The caf\u00e9 was a favorite meeting place for intellectuals, artists and Zionist leaders, among them: David Ben Gurion and his wife Paula, <a href=\" https:\/\/www.ismardavidarchive.org\/indexofnames\/menachem-ussishkin\/\">Menachem Ussishkin,<\/a> Itzhak Shenhar, Shlomo Zemach and Aharon Appelfeld. Local kids went there for ice cream. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ismardavidarchive.org\/indexofnames\/charlotte-stein\/\">Charlotte Stein<\/a> was a regular. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ismardavidarchive.org\/indexofnames\/charming-drawings\/\">Gabi Rosenthal<\/a> and Ismar David, too. People in the neighborhood joked about the radio journalists who frequented the place.
